We now bring you back to your normally scheduled Jackie blog program. I thought I'd do a little update on my 'goals for France' list, to see what I can check off, what I still want to do, and what I want to add on. My edits (and anything staying on the list) are in pink.
- Go back to Notre Dame de Paris. P
- See the Parisian catacombs.
- Absorb more art by visiting some of France's many wonderful museums. This is one I've been semi-good at. I think what this goal needs is to be more specific. I want to go see the Louvre again, the Musee Cluny, and the Musee des Arts et Metiers (although this one's sort of a cheat: it's a science museum).
- See the Normandy beaches. P
- Visit Chambord. P
Learn to make crepes like a French person. This just isn't happening. I'm going to settle for eating lots and lots of crepes.
- Become fluent, really fluent in French. Working on it.
- Go to a soccer game, a real one, with people who care.
- Get my groceries from a farmer's market and go make something awesome with it. P Well, sort of.
- Go to a used bookstore, get some french books, and then spend an afternoon reading them. PP
- Visit Chateau Falaise. P
- Go to England. Thinking I'm going to make this happen, but not until it's a little warmer. I have no desire to visit England in winter.
- Eat a lot of cheese. P
- Eat a lot of chocolate, specifically Kinderbars. P
- Eat a lot of bread. P
- Take pictures of Cocky, and the sash (not necessarily together) at various locations. Well, I have a picture of Cocky, and like one or two pictures of the sash, but I definitely need to get better at both of these.
New arrivals to the list:
- Contribute to crossword puzzle. P I don't care that I've already done it; it goes on the list anyway.
- See the Chateaux de Chantilly and Fontainebleau
- Possibly Chateau Beaumesnil; it looks a little difficult to reach but it could be nice. Chateau Balleroy falls in this category too.
- See the cliffs of Etretat. This one is kind of tricky in that it's not a quick trip, though it should be. It's not the distance, it's that you have to take a very indirect route there. So this one's still in the works.
- See the cathedrals of Chartres, Bourges, Rouen, and Amiens.
- Go back to Mont St. Michel during the spring equinox super high tides.
- Go back to Falaise after they finish their renovations.
- Soak in France.
This is probably a stupid question, but what does the 'P' stand for?
ReplyDeleteThe P's are actually little checkmarks. I thought I would be clever and copy and paste them from Word...unfortunately my cleverness did not foresee that other people's computers would translate wingdings into regular font.
